The RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford & District Branch is a local, independent branch of the National RSPCA. • About the Volunteer Role

    Our van team is a vital part of our organisation, operating across our branch area making collections, transferring items or even performing house clearances. Our drivers are fantastic but they often need help, which is where you come in!

    Driver’s mates can volunteer for a minimum of a morning, afternoon or full day. You’ll travel out with our drivers to various collection points or pick up stock from one store and deliver it to another.

    This role does require a great deal of lifting and carrying and therefore you’ll need to be;

    Physically fit
    Honest & reliable
    Friendly & helpful
    Willing to work as part of a team

    In return you’ll get to work with some of other fantastic staff and volunteers, making a real difference to our charity and all the animals we care for.

Covid-Safe Volunteering

If you are volunteering in lockdown, please make sure that you are staying safe and are up-to-date with the current rules and guidance.

From 29th March, you should continue to volunteer from home where possible unless you cannot reasonably do so. You can leave home to volunteer if you are not required to isolate for any reason. Please make sure that you are following the guidelines to stay safe.

From 12th April, we move to Step 2 of the Government's lockdown easing roadmap.  This is when charity shops, libraries, and community centres can reopen, and cafes can serve people outside, which will mean that more people will be volunteering outside their homes and we may start to get more new volunteering opportunities.

If you are looking for a volunteering role, please visit our I Want To Volunteer page.
